"Traintodrive.net" is a computer-based training program to help train new drivers on the best ways to approach different types of highway/railway crossings.
Through consultation with the transportation industries, and those involved in new driver training, Operation Lifesaver was able to develop this program to compliment current driver training. The program utilizes video clips, sound, and presents railway safety information specifically directed towards the 14-24 age groups.
This important training program is intended for new drivers who are often in the early stages of learning how to drive. By teaching them railway safety this early in the process, we can show how many highway/railway collisions can be prevented by being cautious and using common sense.
Users will learn by completing several interactive modules followed by a final railway safety quiz. The process can be completed in about 45 minutes. If the user scores 80 per cent or more, they can print a Certificate of Completion and may qualify for our monthly draw.
